We are growing fast and are now looking for likeminded people go join our great team to support our growth, with the addition of an experienced Legal Counsel reporting directly to our Chief Legal Officer.

The Opportunity: 

As our Legal Counsel you will play a key role in providing advice both in relation to our operational Bomen Solar Farm, and the development of our renewable energy portfolio comprising solar, wind and BESS projects across most jurisdictions in the National Electricity Market. 

Our ideal candidate will have experience with contracts across the full project lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts related to the development, construction and financing of renewable energy infrastructure, which may include NDAs, MOUs, exclusivity agreements, land agreements, M&A agreements, procurement agreements, connection agreements, project finance agreements, PPAs, EPC and O&M contracts etc.

Experience with compliance activities (e.g. SOCI, Modern Slavery, FIRB) and/or government policy (especially in relation to REZs), would also be highly regarded.

What we’re looking for:

You will be a qualified lawyer, admitted in Australia.  You will have circa 5+ years PQE gained within relevant practice area(s), including energy, major projects/construction, M&A.

We are open to both private practice and inhouse experience.

To be successful in this role you are someone who thrives in a fast paced, agile environment without compromising attention to detail and the quality of your work.  Your communication skills, both verbal and written are strong.

You are comfortable taking ownership of your deliverables and you work just as well in a team as you do autonomously, and you have a flexible approach to change.  You are collaborative by nature and are willing to tackle multiple tasks and to support larger or more complex matters as they present which may include extended and complex negotiations.

Competent IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) are of course a must.
